January 2014 we moved to Silverton Oregon quite a change from high desert life in Central Oregon.
We fell I love with this cute town and the fact that things were still green in January was just extra.
The Silver Falls Bigfoot.
Our neighbor had put a set of elk horns near our yard and pounded it into the ground on a stake an chain so his lab wouldn’t take off with it.
A few days after settling in the neighbor came by to ask if we knew anything about the elk horns we didn’t have a clue just assumed his dog pulled it up.
The next day again neighbor returned said he could see where SOMETHING had drug stake chain an antlers through the woods.
Again figured it was his dog.
Our place was full of trees the front yard looked like well manicured park. There were apple an plum trees all around!
My husband put out a bird feeder by our living room window he filled it wit a good amount of suet we knew the birds would love it!
Funny thing it was early evening when he placed it outside not many birds around eating then.
The next morning much to our surprise the entire thing was GONE.
Backing up when going to look at the house prior to move in their was a large window on the backside of the house that had been broken.
No neighbor children nearby this was out in Silverton hills in the country we lived between Silver Falls and the Reservoir
Being a light sleeper I would hear walking an a snorting snoring type sound around the house usually after 3:00am.
My husband heavy sleeper I spoke to him about what I was hearing he said it was just the deer.
I would lay there when I’d hear these sounds wondering why the valley deer ate so much louder then Central Oregon deer.
A few weeks went by I went out about 5:30 am to warm up the car as I was headed to Salem nothing seemed off or unusual.
I went back in the house for about ten minutes.
I returned to the car and as I was backing out I saw two enormous blood red eyes.
I knew it wasn’t a deer it was to high up and there Aren’t any trees in that area it didn’t make any sense what I was looking at it was so dark all I could see were these creepy eyes looking through me.
The sounds at night continued.
In our bedroom the head of our bed was between two windows now scratching on the window was waking me I told my husband again he was insistent it was deer.
I now had a gut feeling I had an encounter with a Bigfoot although I was too afraid not only of seeing it again but telling ANYONE there seems to be such a stigma with sightings.
A couple moths went by these occurrences went on sometimes couple times a week other times almost a month would go by.
I have to say I felt scared all the time.
As the scratches happened now my screen was being removed from the window on my side of the bed.
I was afraid to go to bed at night.
We on occasion watched our neighbors big black lab he seemed to visit us a couple times a day looking for his treat.
Our neighbors left for a week an we were more than happy to take care of big bundle of love.
One particular night as we were watching a movie everything outside got very quiet it was summer and our windows were open.
All of a sudden on the back side of the house something hit the wall so hard I thought it was coming through the wall.
Again my husband said it’s just deer. I finally broke down crying trying to tell him.
He went outside nothing was there.
The unusual part was the neighbor dog always always came running to the porch he didn’t come out.
They had left a small garage door open for him at night when my husband went over to check on him he was whimpering but would not come out he came out timidly during the day but once dusk came he stayed inside.
When our neighbors came back I tried to tell them what had been going on since we moved there.
They looked at me as a crazy person.
My husband even asked me not to talk about it.
The only one that believes me are two of my teenage grandchildren that have stayed with us and get what happened. Needless to say we moved out of Silverton
I can’t go back there without having panic attacks.
I can’t go in the woods.
Just to think this was all in my yard.
